Who we are

QueryLabs is the contract engineering practice of GeneralQuery Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in India (CIN U72100WB2026PTC286601) at 2nd Floor, Naz Mahal, Majdia West, Gorabazar, Berhampore, Murshidabad, West Bengal 742101, India. For anything you send us through this site, that company is the data controller.

What we collect

This site has no account system, no advertising and no third-party tracking pixels. Visits are counted, but by a first-party counter that stores nothing on your device — described in full below. There are exactly two ways we end up holding anything that could identify you:

• The brief form, or an email. Your answers to a short questionnaire — what you need, what stage it is at, timing, rough budget, and a slot and timezone for a call — plus your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, your company, and anything you added in the free-text box. The form stores nothing in a database: it composes two emails, one to you and one to us, and sends them. From that point your brief lives in our mailbox like any other message. Each submission gets an enquiry number so you and we can refer to the same thing.
• Server logs. Our host records ordinary request data, including IP address, user agent, and the pages requested. This is a by-product of running a web server, is kept briefly, and is not used to build a profile of you.

We do not ask for anything we do not need, and there is no field on this site whose only purpose is marketing.

Cookies

One cookie, and only if you interact with the brief form: a standard PHP session cookie that lets us check the form was submitted by the browser that loaded it, rather than by a script. It holds no personal data, expires when you close the browser, and is not used to follow you anywhere. Our analytics sets no cookie at all. There is no consent banner because there is nothing here that would require one.

Analytics

We count visits, because a page nobody reads should be rewritten rather than left up. The counter is General Query analytics — built and self-hosted by our own parent company at generalquery.xyz, not a third-party product. Nothing about your visit is sent to an advertising network, a data broker, or anyone else.

It sets no cookies and writes nothing at all to your device — no cookie, no local storage, no identifier of any kind. There is nothing to clear and nothing to carry between sites.

What each visit records: the page path and title, the site that referred you, the traffic channel and any campaign tag on the link, your country, whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop, your browser, your operating system, and your window width.

What it never records: your IP address, any cookie, any device identifier, and anything about where else you go. To tell one visit from another without storing anything, the server takes a one-way hash of your IP address and browser together with a secret that is thrown away and replaced every day. Your IP cannot be recovered from it, and tomorrow the same person is a different, unlinkable visitor. Sessions are inferred from that within a thirty-minute gap, which is how the counter reports sessions and bounce rate without a cookie.

Detailed records are kept for 400 days. Daily totals — how many people, not who — are kept indefinitely, so long-range trends survive after the detail ages out.

Why, and on what basis

We use what you send to answer you, to work out whether we're the right team for the job, and, if we go ahead, to scope and run the engagement. That is a legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you initiated, and where it becomes contractual it is necessary for performing that contract. We do not use your brief to train anything, and we do not sell it.

Who else sees it

Only the people at General Query who would be doing the work, plus the service providers that make email and hosting function: our web host, which runs the server this page came from; Resend, which delivers the two emails the form sends; and our mailbox provider, which stores them. Each processes data on our instructions and none is permitted to use it for anything else.

If you gave a phone number, we use it to call you about your enquiry and nothing else. We do not add it to a dialler, a list, or a messaging tool.

We do not share your enquiry with other clients, and we don't name you as a client anywhere, including in the case studies on this site, without your written agreement to the exact wording.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become engagements are kept for up to two years, so that we recognise the context if you come back, and then deleted. Records tied to an actual engagement are kept as long as our contractual and tax obligations require. Ask us to delete an enquiry sooner and we will.

Data inside client systems

During an engagement we often work inside systems that hold your users' personal data. There we are a processor acting on your instructions, not a controller: the terms live in the engagement contract and its data processing addendum, not in this notice. We ask for the least access that lets us do the work, and we don't copy production data onto our own machines when a redacted or synthetic set will do.

QueKey deployments are governed separately. QueKey is General Query's identity provider; what it processes and asserts is described in its own documentation at quekey.com.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our using it. Write to the address below and you'll get an answer from a person, not a ticketing system. If you're in the EU or UK and you think we've handled your data badly, you can also complain to your local supervisory authority.
